In 2018, Waltham Forest Council was successful in securing initial funding from Transport for London (TfL) to develop a Liveable Neighbourhoods scheme in the Coppermill Area. The aim of the scheme being to encourage residents, businesses and visitors to use more active modes of transport in their day-to-day lives, so that together we can reduce congestion, tackle air pollution and improve the health and wellbeing of local people. The scheme will build upon previous schemes in the area and join up key locations in the borough including Walthamstow Wetlands, St James Street Heritage and Blackhorse Lane to ensure everyone can travel safely and easily, while providing a more appealing environment to be enjoyed.
How to get involvedFor the past 12 months we have been engaging with residents, businesses and local accessibility groups and key stakeholders to find out what they would like to see improved. Based on this feedback we have created a set of proposals for the area. We are now starting a public consultation on our proposals and want everyone who lives or works in the area to have their say on the proposals to help shape the final improvements.
There are a number of ways you can participate in the public consultation which starts on Monday 24 June and ends on Sunday 14 July.
We are also holding two informal drop-in sessions where you can talk to us about the plans.
